DSF is a magic realism novel that I've been working on for many years, about a group of troubled artists and musicians who are drawn together when they accidentally upset the power balance between two ancient, forgotten gods. In order to restore harmony they must stage an epic opera and face their darkest fears.

Set in various Canadian cities, fin-de-siècle Paris and Stalinist Russia, HLFB comprises a series of interwoven stories depicting the misadventures of several depressed young men, a Russian ghost and an immortal, pansexual Lizard Man.
